About the ATV Association of Manitoba
Last Updated: Tuesday September 5, 2023 - 4:30 pm CDT

As early as 1998, the popularity of all-terrain vehicle riding exploded in Manitoba. With the number of registered ATVs in Manitoba increasing by an astounding 600% in the span of a decade, from 3150 in 1998 to 22,111 in 2008 (Source - originally posted at http://www.gov.mb.ca/conservation/parks/pdf/public/duck_mountain_working_group_open_house.pdf) so too has media coverage and public scrutiny of the sport. Unfortunately, not all of this attention casts the sport in a positive light. Despite the presence of the Manitoba Off Road Vehicles (ORV) Act, a number of rural municipalities have implemented local restrictions or outright bans on ATV use.

Recognizing the need for an official organization representing the interests of ATV enthusiasts, the All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Manitoba (ATVMB) was formed in 2009 with the primary goal of being recognized as the official liaison between the Manitoba Government and ATV users in Manitoba. This goal has been achieved.

In order to help ATVMB provide you, the ATV enthusiast, with a stronger voice with the Manitoba Government and to continue to help support your fair and legal right to enjoy the sport of ATV riding, ATVMB urges you to get involved and support us by joining your local ATV club. A list of ATVMB sanctioned clubs is listed here on our website. We realize that as of the time of this writing there may be no club in your immediate area. If this is your situation, there are other options!

The first and foremost suggestion is to form an ATVMB sanctioned club in your area. ATVMB is ready and willing to provide you the support you need to form a club by offering advice, resources, and the process by which you need to follow in order to do so. Feel free to contact us through our website if you wish to pursue this option or simply learn more about it. There are significant advantages to having a club, including but not limited to:

  • Creating a larger footprint in the province, offering more choice to Manitobans
  • Ease of communications with ATVMB (and therefore, the Manitoba Government) with regards to issues and concerns regarding ATV use in your area
  • Ability to provide education and information about the sport to residents in your area
  • Connecting with like-minded individuals who share a common interest
  • Helping to support the sport on an ongoing basis to ensure your interests and concerns are represented fairly with the Manitoba Government

If there is no club in your immediate area, consider joining one of our existing clubs, even if you are not in the same area! ATVMB strongly recommends forming a club in your area if there is not one there already! Talk to residents in your area, generate interest and help get the ball rolling! If forming a club in your area is not feasible, you can still support ATVMB by simply make a donation to the cause

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us through by visiting the "Contact Us" section of our website. ATVMB would like to thank you in advance for your support.
